Shir Chadash

Jewish Community Chorus

Shir Chadash is a true community chorus, unaffiliated with any specific denomination and embracing diversity. Our members hail from over 20 different synagogues, with many unaffiliated with any Jewish institution.

We are passionate about creating music that connects people to the global Jewish experience, bridging generations and traditions. Through music, we aim to foster a sense of unity, belonging, and shared cultural pride, celebrating the diversity of Jewish expression while honoring its rich heritage.

Now in its third decade, Shir Chadash: The Brooklyn Jewish Community Chorus is a vibrant four-part SATB ensemble with over 40 members.

Our repertoire reflects the richness and diversity of Jewish music from around the globe, featuring moving liturgical pieces, contemporary compositions, and updated arrangements of world folk music in many languages. The chorus is led by the multi-talented Artistic Director, Scott Stein.
